Positively Oelwein

Art Show - Hypnotist - January 14, 2006

refreshments

Always a welcome sight! Vicki Warthan provided an eye-catching refreshment table, Oelwein realtors donated the refreshments, and the Oelwein Ambassadors served the goodies.

shirts

Positively Oelwein shirts were available. Here Darla and Tim Recker and Pat Guard visit with the hypnotist, Steve Meade, before the show.

Dennis Sanborn

One of the first exhibits was that of former Oelwein High School teacher, Dennis Sanborn. His sculptures and pottery were displayed along with art work created by his talented sons, Cole and Drew.

Cole Sanborn

Cole Sanborn is shown with his creative photography work. His brother Drew's paintings can also be seen on the display. This is one amazing and talented family!

Cindy Fox

This photo doesn't begin to do justice to the exquisite watercolors by artist Cindy Fox. Cindy is the Middle School art teacher and, as her students, know, loves horses and often features them in her work.

Cheryl Hermansen paiintings

Even though Cheryl Hermansen is well known for her art work seen in local establishments, many people were awestruck by the paintings she exhibited at the show.

Roger and Andrea Beane carvings

This talented couple has been wowing people for several years. Roger and Andrea Beane use their gifts for carving to create wonderful pieces of art. Roger is a carver who turns wood into wonderful and often whimsical beings while Andrea turns gourds into stunning containers.

Kyle Hatch paintings

The high school students are lucky to have Kyle Hach as their new art teacher. Art show patrons were treated to paintings that were filled with energy, creativity, enthusiasm, and imagination. Mr. Hack also brought paintings by high school students and displayed them on the blue boards shown in the background of this picture.

Deb Howard

The Kendalls, Steve and Dawn, enjoy the art work of Deb Howard. Her beautiful pen and watercolor drawings are examples of yet another of Deb's many artistic talents.

Kirk Shaw mountain scene

Kirk Shaw, elementary art teacher, enthralled the art show patrons with his chalk work. As people watched he turned paper and chalk into a gorgeous mountain vista.

Steggall paintings

The Steggall twins, Wes and Casey, seem to turn everything into a work of art. Their paintings and the stories behind the paintings kept visitors to their exhibit spellbound. In addition to painting, the young artists also displayed sculpture and wonderfully unique and creative furniture.

Beth Kerr photos

Beth Kerr exhibited part of her extensive collection of photographs. Her eye for color, design and composition were evident in the beautiful scenes and close-ups she captured.
