Screening Statistical Report for Oelwein
In September, 2005, Richard Witt did the vision screening for 45 preschoolers in two work sessions. In November, 35 more students were screened in 3 work sessions. Richard is part of an extremely valuable Lion's Club service project. In September 2,126 Iowa children were screened for vision problems, in October another 3,160, and in November an additional 2,891.
Any Lion who would like to be trained in the process of vision screening should contact Richard Witt.
Dr. Jack has created boxes for collecting eye glasses. These boxes can be found at the banks. Dr. Jack labels the glasses with Oelwein, Iowa, then ships them to various countries where they are needed. Over 5000 pair of glasses have been recycled to children and adults who need them.
December 2005: The Lions Club was presented with a check for $100 from the Community Bank. 1st Vice President and Lions Foundation President, Janet Wissler, nominated the Lions Club for this award. Thanks to the Community Bank for their generous gift.
