Best Place to Work!

Janet Sandell, Housing Manager at Grundy Center Arlington Place, and Kathy Steele Adams, Housing Manager at Oelwein Arlington Place are shown at the Ecumen Leadership Conference held in Brooklyn Center, MN. May 8, 2008.

Kathryn Roberts, Ecumen CEO, commented about Kathy Steele Adams, current Arlington Place Assisted Living of Oelwein Director, at the May Leadership Conference held in the Twin Cities.

"Hillary Clinton is one of the many people who have heard that if you come to Oelwein, Iowa, and you want to meet someone who gets things done, you have to meet Kathy Adams. Kathy, who is in South Carolina today, took the helm at Arlington Place last year. She saw apartments sitting empty, but also opportunity to make Arlington Place a bigger part of the larger community. She forged strong relationships with the local Chamber of Commerce, schools, 4H, the newspaper and others to expand her volunteer base, built community connections, and enhanced Arlington Place's reputation . . . Arlington Place is now the place to live if you are a senior in Oelwein."

Arlington Place is managed by Ecumen, which is one of the Upper Midwest's largest non-profit providers of senior housing options. Click here to visit the Ecumen web site.

The name Ecumen comes from the word Ecumenical, which in turn is derived from the root Greek word for home, "Oikos."

Our promise: We create "Home" for older adults wherever they choose to live
